Let It Snow, Let It Snow

A funny thing happened to us when we were driving back home from our Mini run yesterday, hmm, well it was more like I saw something funny. There was this truck with a melting snow man on its roof. Now for someone who lives in California, this sight is hard to come by. If there was even a smidgeon of snowfall happening, it would be very brief and momentary, which for someone, who isn’t too familiar with ice falling from the sky, is a bit disappointing. Just a tad bit. I’d like to see snow once in a while but I wouldn’t want to deal with it during the winter months.

Anyway, I wondered where the truck came from and the hubby said it was probably up the Santa Cruz Mountains where there was a snow build-up because of the continuous rains and winds from Alaska during the week. Now the route we took for the Mini run was totally different, we were on the mountain roads but it was more towards the ocean side. So the roads were dry.

We both got curious and so instead of going straight home we drove up the mountains to see for ourselves. Lo and behold, we found ourselves in a winter wonderland.
